First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can reduce pain and improve hand function in adults with thumb base osteoarthritis. 88 participants will receive either PRP or a placebo (saline) injection and be followed for one year. The goal is to see if this simple, natural treatment offers a better option than current conservative therapies.
