Old asthma drug may help kids with rare genetic condition

NCT ID NCT03029429

Summary

This study is testing whether theophylline, a medication historically used for asthma, can help children and young adults with pseudohypoparathyroidism. This rare genetic disorder causes early obesity, short stature, and increased diabetes risk. Researchers will give participants either theophylline or a placebo for one year to see if it helps with weight loss and blood sugar control.
