Testosterone trial aims to reduce falls in frail elderly men
NCT ID NCT07512323
First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving testosterone to frail men aged 70 and older with low testosterone can improve their strength, balance, and mental well-being, and reduce their risk of falls. About 96 men who are too weak for standard exercise will receive either testosterone or a placebo for several months. The main goal is to see if they can stand up from a chair more times in 30 seconds, a key measure of leg strength linked to fall risk.
