Teens at risk: study probes why boys delay care for testicular emergency

NCT ID NCT07554313

First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at why teenagers with testicular torsion wait more than 6 hours before going to the hospital. Researchers will survey 150 boys aged 10-18 who had surgery for this condition between 2020 and 2025. The goal is to find out what barriers—like embarrassment, fear, or not knowing the symptoms—cause delays, so doctors can better educate young people and families.
