Bike test for osteoarthritis patients put to the test

NCT ID NCT07383740

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study aims to see if a short, submaximal bike test (the Ekblom-Bak test) gives consistent results when repeated in people with hip or knee osteoarthritis. Forty patients from a Swedish OA program will take the test twice, one to two weeks apart. If reliable, this test could become a standard way to measure fitness in routine OA care.
