New radioactive therapy shows promise for rare gut cancers

NCT ID NCT07404176

First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests a new radioactive drug, Terbium-161 DOTATATE, in 20 adults with advanced neuroendocrine tumors that have spread and stopped responding to standard treatment. The drug delivers radiation directly to cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue, aiming to shrink or stabilize tumors with fewer side effects. Participants receive up to two treatment cycles, and doctors monitor tumor response and any side effects through scans and blood tests.
