Could hormone therapy replace chemo for some breast cancer patients?
NCT ID NCT07084558
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether hormone therapy works as well as chemotherapy for people with a common type of early breast cancer (HR-positive, HER2-negative) that shows no signs of cancer DNA in the blood. About 350 participants will first take a hormone pill for 3 weeks to see if their tumor responds. If it does, they are randomly assigned to either continue hormone therapy or switch to chemotherapy for several months. The goal is to see if hormone therapy can control the cancer just as well while causing fewer side effects and improving quality of life.
