Gene therapy tested as new weapon against spreading kidney cancer
NCT ID NCT06716853
Summary
This study tested the safety and early effects of a single dose of Temferon, a new type of gene therapy, in people with advanced kidney cancer that had spread and stopped responding to standard treatments. Temferon uses a patient's own modified stem cells to deliver an anti-cancer signal (interferon) directly to tumors. The trial was small and early-stage, aiming to see if the treatment was safe and showed any biological activity against the cancer.
