Could a video chat replace the doctor's office for autism diagnosis?

NCT ID NCT05047224

First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a telemedicine tool called TAP that lets doctors assess toddlers for autism via video call. Researchers want to see if it works as well as in-person exams, especially for families who have trouble getting to a clinic. About 720 children aged 18 to 42 months and their caregivers will take part. If successful, this could make autism diagnosis faster and more accessible.
