First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a long-acting buprenorphine shot (BRIXADI) via telemedicine to 30 jailed adults with opioid use disorder helps them stay on treatment after release. Participants switch from daily pills to weekly and then monthly injections before leaving jail, then continue care in the community. The goal is to see if this approach improves medication adherence and reduces illicit opioid use and overdose risk.
