First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested whether delivering mental health services through telehealth (video calls) helps young adults with psychotic disorders stay engaged in care and avoid hospital stays better than standard in-person clinic visits. Seventy-four participants aged 16 to 35 with recent-onset psychosis were randomly assigned to either telehealth or clinic-based care for 12 months. Researchers tracked hospitalizations and symptoms to see which approach worked better.
