Video calls bring autism therapy home

NCT ID NCT04042337

Summary

This study tested whether parents of young children with autism could learn a specific therapy called Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) through weekly video calls. Over 12 weeks, therapists taught parents how to use PRT techniques during play at home. Researchers wanted to see if this remote training helped parents use the therapy correctly and if it improved their children's communication skills compared to families on a waiting list.
