Summary

This large research study aims to better understand what causes depression in teenagers and to test effective treatments. It will enroll 4,100 participants, including teens with depression and healthy volunteers, to observe them for up to two years using interviews, computer tasks, and brain scans. Some teens with depression will also be offered standard outpatient treatments like talk therapy (CBT or IPT-A) and, if needed, medication, to see how these help.
