Deep heat device tested for neck pain and balance problems
NCT ID NCT07289607
First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated Jun 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether TECAR therapy, a device that delivers deep heat using radiofrequency energy, can improve proprioception (the sense of where your body is in space) in people with cervical radiculopathy (nerve-related neck pain). The trial will include 80 adults aged 30-40 with confirmed cervical radiculopathy. Half will receive real TECAR therapy and half a sham treatment, and researchers will measure changes in neck movement and body awareness.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
TECAR therapy (a device that delivers deep heat via radiofrequency energy)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a non-drug way to improve balance and movement control in people with nerve-related neck pain.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with no results yet. The sham control may also produce some benefit, and the therapy might not meaningfully improve proprioception beyond standard care.
