This phase 3 trial tests whether the drug tebentafusp can prevent uveal melanoma from coming back in high-risk patients after their initial treatment. About 290 people with a specific genetic marker (HLA-A*02:01) will either receive weekly infusions of tebentafusp or be observed without treatment. What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Tebentafusp (a drug given weekly by IV infusion)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could reduce the chance of uveal melanoma coming back after initial treatment, potentially improving long-term survival.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage test in a specific genetic group (HLA-A*02:01 positive). The drug may not prevent recurrence, and side effects from weekly infusions are possible.
Conditions
