First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested a device called TearCare, which uses heat to unblock oil glands in the eyelids, in 235 adults with dry eye disease. Participants were randomly assigned to receive TearCare or another device (LipiFlow). The goal was to see if TearCare safely improves tear film stability and gland function, reducing dry eye symptoms. Results showed improvements in tear break-up time and gland secretion scores.
