Mist instead of knife: new spray may stop Post-Tonsil bleeding in kids

NCT ID NCT06580509

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether a medicated mist (nebulized tranexamic acid) can safely stop bleeding after tonsil removal in children aged 2 to 17. The goal is to avoid repeat surgery and blood transfusions. About 12 children who come to the emergency room with bleeding will receive the mist, and researchers will measure how well it works and how the body processes the medicine.
