NCT ID NCT06278233
First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether mild electrical brain stimulation (TDCS) applied for 5 days in a row could improve speech fluency in 36 adults who stutter. Participants received either real stimulation or a sham (fake) version while doing fluency exercises. The main goal was to see if the real stimulation reduced stuttered syllables during reading and conversation, both right after treatment and one week later.
