First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested whether a device that sends mild electrical currents to the brain (tDCS) can help ease depression symptoms when used at home. 174 adults with major depression used the device or a fake version for 10 weeks. The goal was to see if real stimulation reduced depression scores more than the placebo.
