Brain zaps for autism: 80 sessions over a year

NCT ID NCT06368726

First seen Apr 13, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether 80 sessions of a gentle brain stimulation technique called tDCS, given over 12 months, can improve attention, social skills, and language in 180 children aged 6 to 11 who have autism along with rare diseases, genetic problems, or PANDAS. The treatment is non-invasive and aims to ease symptoms, not cure the condition. Children must have had a normal pregnancy and birth, and no history of head trauma or brain infections.
