Shocking discovery: brain stimulation boosts memory training in Alzheimer's

NCT ID NCT06861231

First seen Jun 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether combining a gentle brain stimulation technique (tDCS) with computer-based cognitive training could improve memory and thinking in people with early-stage Alzheimer's. Twenty-two participants received either real or fake stimulation during 10 training sessions. The goal was to see if the combination led to greater and longer-lasting improvements in cognitive function compared to training alone.
