Ancient tongue diagnosis meets modern science in IBD study

NCT ID NCT07314151

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study explores whether traditional Chinese medicine tools, like tongue and pulse diagnosis, can help identify unique features of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Researchers will compare 30 people with IBD to 30 healthy volunteers, analyzing tongue-coating metabolites and other health data. The goal is to better understand the disease, not to test a treatment.
