NCT ID NCT05049460

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study tested a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called theta burst stimulation (TBS) in 23 adults with both opioid and tobacco use disorders who were stable on buprenorphine. Participants received four sessions of TBS or a sham (fake) treatment in one day. Researchers measured changes in attention to drug-related images and self-reported cravings. The goal was to see if TBS could reduce impulsivity and craving triggered by stress and drug cues.
