Summary

This completed study tested a new public health pack to find and prevent tuberculosis (TB) early in people living with someone who has TB. Over 7,400 participants in Thailand were involved. The pack included active screening, treatment for active TB, and preventive therapy for those without active TB. The goal was to see if this approach could get more people started on preventive treatment quickly.

Active substance
Tuberculosis Case-Finding, Treatment and Prevention Public Health Pack
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could help reduce tuberculosis spread and improve preventive treatment uptake in high-risk households.
What could go wrong
This is a completed implementation study, so results are already known. The strategy may not be easily adopted in other regions or countries with different healthcare systems.
