New hope for stubborn muscle weakness? drug targets immune cells in tiny trial

NCT ID NCT07499323

First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This very early study will test a drug called talquetamab in just 2 people with refractory generalized myasthenia gravis, a chronic autoimmune disease that causes severe muscle weakness and has not improved with standard treatments. Talquetamab works by directing the body's immune T cells to destroy certain cells that may be driving the disease. The goal is to see if the drug can safely reduce symptoms and improve daily functioning.
