Can a new drug block Ketamine's brain effects?

NCT ID NCT01892189

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a single dose of TAK-063 can change how ketamine affects brain activity and causes psychotic-like symptoms in healthy adult men. 27 participants received TAK-063, a placebo, or ketamine in different sessions. The goal was to see if TAK-063 could prevent or alter the brain changes caused by ketamine, using brain scans. This is an early-stage study to understand the drug's effects, not a treatment for any disease.
