New schizophrenia drug shows promise in 6-week trial

Summary

This study tested whether a new drug called TAK-063 can help reduce symptoms of schizophrenia during a sudden worsening (acute exacerbation). 164 adults took either the drug or a placebo for 6 weeks. The main goal was to see if symptoms improved, measured by a standard rating scale. The trial is now complete.
