First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This early-phase study tested whether removing a specific type of immune cell (regulatory T cells) before a stem cell transplant is safe and possible for people with multiple myeloma. Thirty participants received either standard transplant or transplant with T cell removal. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce complications like graft-versus-host disease, where the new cells attack the body.
