NCT ID NCT02921347
First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looked at whether switching between two types of breathing machines (invasive and noninvasive) can help patients who have been on a ventilator for a long time learn to breathe on their own faster. It involved 83 adults who had been on a ventilator for at least 14 days and were expected to have difficulty weaning off. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
