Summary
This study looked at whether giving a special research e-cigarette to people who are on medication for opioid use disorder and smoke cigarettes could help them smoke less. 41 adults who were stable on buprenorphine and not ready to quit smoking were randomly assigned to get the e-cigarette right away or after a delay. The study measured how many cigarettes they smoked and how they felt, to see if switching to e-cigarettes is a helpful option.
