New hope for stroke survivors: simple therapy may ease swallowing trouble

This study looked at whether special swallowing exercises (physiological manipulation) and mild electrical stimulation on the neck can help stroke patients who have trouble swallowing. 158 adults aged 30-65 who had a stroke and developed swallowing problems took part. They were split into three groups and received different treatments for 12 weeks. The goal was to see if these therapies could make swallowing safer and reduce the risk of food or liquid going into the lungs.
