New hope for hard-to-treat esophageal cancer: drug combo trial launches

Summary

This study tests whether adding the drug surufatinib to standard chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation can help people with advanced esophageal cancer that cannot be surgically removed. About 69 adults with this type of cancer will receive the combination treatment. The goal is to see if it improves how long patients live without the cancer growing.
