First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at whether liposuction can reduce pain and improve daily life for women with lipedema, a chronic condition that causes painful fat buildup in the arms and legs. Researchers in Norway will follow 220 women aged 20–65 who have not had prior surgery for lipedema. The goal is to provide clear evidence on the benefits of surgical treatment for this often misunderstood condition.
