Summary
This study tested a mobile health program called SurgeryPal to see if it could prevent short-term pain from becoming chronic in teens after major back surgery. 433 teens aged 12-18 having spinal fusion were randomly assigned to use SurgeryPal or standard education before and after surgery. The goal was to reduce pain intensity and interference up to 6 months later.
