Race against time: does slower surfactant save tiny lungs?
NCT ID NCT07261787
Summary
This study aims to find the best timing for giving surfactant, a life-saving lung treatment, to extremely premature babies born before 28 weeks. Researchers will compare giving the treatment over 1 minute versus 5 minutes to see which method better stabilizes the baby's oxygen levels, heart rate, and brain oxygen. The goal is to gather evidence to improve the safety and effectiveness of this common procedure for the most vulnerable newborns.
