New Needle-Free fix for hemorrhoid bleeding put to the test

NCT ID NCT05697562

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a new, less invasive procedure called superior rectal artery embolization (SRAE) for controlling bleeding from hemorrhoids. It involves blocking small arteries to stop bleeding without cutting or damaging the anal area. The study will enroll 80 adults with grade I-III hemorrhoids and compare SRAE to standard treatments like rubber band ligation or Doppler-guided HAL. The goal is to see if SRAE works just as well for symptom control.
