New family therapy aims to stop teen suicide attempts

Summary

This trial tests a therapy called SAFETY, designed to help teenagers who have recently attempted suicide. The study will include 282 youths aged 10-17 and their caregivers. Half will receive SAFETY, a family-based cognitive-behavioral program, and the other half will get enhanced usual care. The goal is to see if SAFETY reduces the number of repeat suicide attempts over time.
