Two-Minute sweat test spots nerve damage in autoimmune patients

NCT ID NCT04927832

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested a fast, non-invasive device called SUDOSCAN to detect small fiber neuropathy (nerve damage) in 139 adults with autoimmune diseases (like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis) or unexplained pain. The goal was to see how common this nerve damage is in these groups. The test measures sweat function and could help doctors find nerve problems earlier without needles or biopsies.
