Summary
This study aims to find out if the amount and characteristics of gas a patient passes after abdominal surgery can help predict their recovery and risk of complications. Researchers will enroll 200 adults having planned abdominal surgery and ask them to track their gas and stool patterns before and after the operation. The goal is to see if this simple information can be used to create a tool for doctors to better monitor patient recovery.
