Dye test could spare neck cancer patients from unnecessary surgery

NCT ID NCT07518485

First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether special dyes can help doctors find cancer that has spread to lymph nodes in patients with head and neck cancer. About 20 adults with early-stage oral cavity or skin cancer will receive two dyes during surgery to see if they can spot hidden cancer cells. If successful, this approach could lead to more precise treatment and reduce the need for extensive neck surgery.
