New combo aims to beat drug resistance in blood cancer

Summary
This study tests whether adding venetoclax to ibrutinib can eliminate genetic mutations that make chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) resistant to ibrutinib. About 28 adults with CLL who already have these resistance mutations will receive both drugs for 12 cycles. The goal is to see if the combination can clear the resistant cells and improve outcomes.
