Summary
This study tested a new antibiotic combination (imipenem-relebactam) against standard antibiotics for treating fever caused by low white blood cells in 100 adults with cancer. The goal was to see if the new treatment works better at controlling infections and helps doctors use antibiotics more wisely. Participants received either the new drug or usual care, with or without additional antibiotics.
