New combo therapy aims to ease stroke-related muscle tightness and nerve pain

NCT ID NCT07482618

First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding the muscle relaxant tolperison after botulinum toxin injections can reduce muscle stiffness and nerve pain in stroke survivors. About 40 adults with spastic hemiplegia (one-sided paralysis) will be followed. Researchers will measure spasticity, pain, and walking speed to see if the combination helps more than injections alone.
