This study followed nearly 4,000 people with narrowing of brain arteries (intracranial atherosclerosis) who had never had a stroke or mini-stroke. Researchers used ultrasound and MRI scans to track changes in artery plaques and cognitive function over time. The goal was to identify which plaques are dangerous and could lead to stroke, helping improve prevention strategies.
