Squeeze away surgery stress: study tests stress balls for hernia patients
NCT ID NCT07150936
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looks at whether using a stress ball during hernia surgery can lower anxiety, reduce pain, and keep heart rate and blood pressure more stable. About 72 adults having their first hernia surgery will be split into two groups: one will squeeze a stress ball during the procedure, and the other will not. Researchers will measure anxiety and pain levels before, during, and after surgery to see if this simple tool makes a difference.
