New drug combo aims to speed stomach healing after cancer procedure

Summary
This study is testing if adding a second medication (sucralfate suspension) to the standard acid-reducing drug (esomeprazole) helps stomach ulcers heal better after a procedure to remove early-stage stomach cancer or pre-cancer. About 120 patients who have the procedure will be randomly assigned to get either the standard drug alone or the standard drug plus the extra medication for 8 weeks. Doctors will check how well the ulcers heal and look for complications like bleeding.
