New home care plan aims to keep stoma patients out of the hospital

This study tests a special home care program for people who have a stoma after colorectal cancer surgery. The program helps patients and their families manage care at home, with the goal of reducing complications and unplanned hospital visits. About 98 adults who had elective colorectal surgery and a new stoma will take part. Researchers will measure how well patients can do daily activities, their quality of life, and how confident they feel managing their stoma.
