Could extra steroids speed teen recovery from major back surgery?

NCT ID NCT05561725

Summary

This study is testing whether giving teenagers extra doses of a common steroid (dexamethasone) after spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis helps them recover better. Researchers want to see if the extra steroids reduce pain, lower the need for strong opioid painkillers, lessen nausea, and shorten hospital stays. The study will compare teens who get the standard single dose during surgery to those who get three additional doses afterward.
