Doctors test new way to inject fluids straight into the bone
NCT ID NCT01853215
Summary
This study tested a medical device designed to deliver fluids and medications directly into the breastbone (sternum) in emergency situations when regular IV access is difficult. Researchers enrolled 24 healthy adult volunteers to see if the procedure was safe, how fast fluids could flow, and how easy the device was for medical staff to use. The main goal was to check for fluid leaks and gather feedback from the operators.
