New brain bleed treatment could reduce disability without open surgery

NCT ID NCT07208097

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether a minimally invasive procedure that drains the brain clot using a clot-busting drug (tenecteplase) helps people recover better than standard medical care alone. About 768 adults with a moderate-sized brain hemorrhage will be randomly assigned to either the new procedure or usual treatment. The main goal is to see if more people achieve a good functional outcome (able to care for themselves) at 6 months.
